Fall seems to be have been taken over by influencers and mass consumerism these past few years, but here’s some fun fall ideas that are not apple picking or a pumpkin patch! Even though, those can be really fun as well.

  1. Bake an apple pie with a friend or family member. Whether the apples were picked by you or picked up at the store, this is a memory that you will always cherish! Even if the pie comes out tasting like poop, what better excuse to order take out or pick up donuts instead.
  2. Go to the mountains or wherever you can and find some beautiful nature scenery. Bonus points if you bring a pumpkin coffee along.
  3. Have a Halloween or Autumn movie marathon! Watch Halloweentown or Twilight if you don’t like scary movies and grab some maple popcorn or apple cider. Fall is the time for cozy vibes.
  4. Go thrift shopping and try to make a consume out of completely second hand items! This is especially fun if you do it before a Halloween party or someplace you have to wear a costume.
  5. This one might sound basic, but I do this every year. Find as many pumpkin spice things you can and try them all out! Pumpkin spice does not always go with everything but it can be fun watching your friends faces trying pumpkin spice mustard!

How To Put Together A Transitional Outfit For Fall!

How To Put Together A Transitional Outfit For Fall!

You may be thinking, what is a transitional outfit and why do I need one, but transitional outfits are a fun way to wear your fall clothing without dying in the still summer heat! Some of my favorite ways to wear fall trends during August and September are finding versatile pieces and dressing them down. For example a plaid skirt with a sweater is a fall classic, but switch it up with a bright tee or crop top and you have a great summer look! Another way to really bring in Fall into your wardrobe is with your color pallet. You know that brown mini dress you always wear with your favorite coat? Put on a pair of white sandals and sunglasses and you have a great transitional look. Or wear that orange crop top you usually save for October out now and add a yellow bag. If you really want to wear your favorite sweater out try wearing it around your shoulders, it’s super cute but definitely not as warm! August and September are the beginning of the best time of year, so don’t be afraid to start wearing your orange and black and drinking something pumpkin spice.

Branson, Missouri – The Town you Probably Haven’t Heard Of

Branson, Missouri – The Town you Probably Haven’t Heard Of

For the past 3 summers now, my husband and I have spend a week or so of summer in his parents lake house on Table Rock Lake in Missouri. Before meeting my husband I had no desire or even inclination to visit Missouri, so I had no idea what I was walking into. Table Rock Lake is about an hour outside of Springfield (you might of heard of that one) and is located right next to a town called Branson. Branson is where people in the area go to do all sorts of things! If you are not on the lake, you might be go carting, or visiting the wax museum, or aquarium, or maybe enjoying the best ice cream you’ve ever had at Andy’s. Branson is like Las Vegas for families, with many things to do crammed into a street or two. It’s never someplace I would have picked out to visit but it is always such a fun place to go! The people are friendly and the food is delicious, there’s always something to do in Branson.

New York City Itinerary

New York City Itinerary

We love visiting NYC and this year we revisited some favorites and did a few new things as well! Below are a few things we highly recommend if you are visiting New York City.

You have to grab a bagel! Trust me, it’s like eating a croissant in Paris, it’s just a one of a kind, tasty experience you need to have! Bagel spots are on every corner but here are our top 2, Liberty Bagels and Thompson Square Bagel. Try the maple cream cheese at Liberty, you will not be disappointed.

If you love museums and history The Met is a must see! We always make it a point to visit anytime we are in New York and it never disappoints. Plus it’s the perfect photo spot to reminisce about the lives of the beautiful upper East Siders of Gossip Girl.

If you want a view skip the Empire State Building and look at the city from places like The Edge or a rooftop bar like the Magic Hour NYC. You get a great view WITH the Empire State Building in it.

Last but not least make sure to walk or take the subway if you can! I can’t tell you how many little stores and restaurants we bumped into that we tried!
