Going into this, I hadn’t no idea what to expect. All I knew was I would be floating down the Colorado River for +3 hours in a float I bought on amazon. But this trip was one of the most fun I have taken all summer! The River Regatta was $70 per ticket and included a free hot dog lunch, and the hotel we stayed at had a free shuttle to and from the event. The $70 did not include a float or life vest (which is required) or any canned alcohol we wished to bring. Including all the extras the total, with ticket, came out to $150. That may seem like a steep price but floating along a river with a drink in your hand, is a one of a kind experience. It may sound cheesy, but I had way more fun then I expected and now I don’t have to buy a raft or life vest next year. I got to see a few of my friends float down a river drunk, and traded some lifeguards sunblock for a lift back to shore. I’d bring a few snacks for your journey and lots of alcohol and sunblock. Because if you have an opportunity for a river regatta near you, borrow someone’s float, buy a vest at Walmart for $10 and float the day away. I promise you won’t regret it.
